ANGELA LIU

Portrait of Angela Liu
The Journey

Crafting stillness in a world of motion.

Photography is, for me, a ritual of observation. It began with the silence of dawn and a heavy brass Leica.

What defines my work is the pursuit of the "in-between" moments—the breath before a laugh, the shadow that elongates as the sun dips below the horizon. My lens doesn't just capture subjects; it captures atmospheres.

"I am less interested in how things look than how they feel."

Philosophy

Leica M11 & 35mm Summilux

A deliberate limitation. The rangefinder mechanism forces a connection to the frame that modern autofocus cannot replicate.

Inspiration

Cinematic Noir & Chiaroscuro

Drawing from Caravaggio's shadows and the mood of 1940s cinema to find drama in everyday geometry.
